Nominations are now open for the Breast Friends' Compassion Award. Every year, in the spring, Breast Friends announces the winner of the annual, "Compassion Award," given to someone in Oregon or S.W. Washington that has demonstrated outstanding patient support. The award is presented at the "Joy of Life," fundraiser. This years' event will be held on April 24 at the beautiful Downtown Portland Hilton Hotel.

Previous winners were:

2009 - Susan Hedlund, MSW, LCSW
2008 - Nathalie Johnson, MD

Nominees can be members of the medical community, retailers, individuals, or anyone dedicated to the fight against women's cancers.
Nominations will be submitted to the Breast Friends Board of Directors and will be narrowed down to a list of finalists. Those finalists will be invited, along with a guest, to the event and the winner will be announced. Susan Hedlund (last year's winner) will be on hand to present the award.
